About
Daryl Mendez also known as “Gallivanti” is a Miami based visual artist predominately photographing architecture and landscapes. Born in Havana, Cuba, Gallivanti was seldom exposed to the modern structures that contribute to his neo-futuristic aesthetic. Inspired by the surrounding art deco buildings that began the futurist movement in the 20th century, he began documenting places that push the boundaries of man and construction.
Neo-futurism is an approach that intends to incorporate urban design that is acquainted with human emotions, eco-sustainability, and leverages the use of new materials and technologies. The idea as a whole, is one of optimism and of belief of better future.
